CTG Seems Like A ‘Mainstream Approach To Indigenous Affairs’: Eggington

Dennis Eggington
CEO Aboriginal Legal Service

The head of West Australia’s Aboriginal Legal Service says if the Closing the Gap campaign keeps failing, it should be scrapped.

When Prime Minister Scott Morrison handed down this year’s Closing the Gap report, the 11th since it was first launched, only two of the seven target were on track.

A new partnership between Australian Governments and Indigenous peak bodies is now looking to refresh the campaign with new targets and First Nations input.

CEO of the Aboriginal Legal Service West Australia, Dennis Eggington told Noonga Radio’s Law Matters program that the campaign as it is, is a mainstream approach to Indigenous affairs.
